I am not going to lie. I’m on the countdown! I have a challenging class this year and I am very much looking forward to the Thanksgiving break. In my district we are very fortunate to get all of Thanksgiving week off. I love that Thanksgiving reminds us to take a moment to count our blessings and reflect on what we are thankful for in our lives. In school we have been woking on a little project for our families. We’ve been making placemats.
How cute are these? My kids are having a blast with this thankful project. I just love the new Melonheadz clipart and on the back is our writing about what my students are thankful for. The plan is for my kiddos to share these with their families on Thanksgiving day. As students finish writing and coloring the front, I let them choose a fall colored piece of construction paper and we glue them on. All my kiddos should be done in the next couple of days so I’ll laminate them and they will be ready to share on Thanksgiving.
I’m really happy with how they came out. If you want to do this fun little project with your class grab your copy by clicking below. Keep in mind that the front should be copied on legal sized paper and the back is 81/2 x 11. Here is a tip….if you let them use color pencils they are quiet as a mouse for like 20 minutes.
Of course for my dual immersion friends it is also available in Spanish!
I hope you enjoy this little project. Please feel free to say hi or comment below! Have a great week everyone!
