November is my favorite fall month. It is my wedding anniversary, my birthday, and one of my favorite holidays…….Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving! I love it because it gives me permission to eat a ton of rich delicous and fatty foods but more than that, it gives us all time to take a moment to reflect. Today I am linking up with some of my blogy buddies to reflect about our blessings and what we are most thankful for.
As I previously mentioned, November is my birthday month! As I get older and hopefully wiser, I value the opportunity to do what I love. I am so thankful that I made the decision to become a teacher.
Believe it or not, I didn’t start off my career as a teacher. I always knew I was interested in teaching but I didn’t want to be just like my mom (insert hysterical laugh here). I’m laughing because my mom is the most amazing woman I have ever known and she is a fantastic teacher. I don’t quite remember the logic of my youth but I’m glad I found my way back to my calling and teaching is my calling! I absolutely love it. Not all day everyday; but more often than not.
I am thankful that I get to be part of my student’s lives. I find joy in making those small milestones with my kiddos. I beam with pride when they have struggled and they persevere. Most of all, I am thrilled when I get to see the moment. You know the one I’m talking about. The moment their eyes get that spark, they sit up a little taller, and a gigantic smile spreads across their face. The moment they look up at you and you just know inside….they get it. That is how I know it is my calling and I am thankful for every single day I get to spend with my little firsties!
The next thing in my life I am grateful for is my tribe! Every teacher I know would never survive without the members of their tribe.
As much as I LOVE teaching, it can take a lot out of you. People who don’t teach just don’t understand everything that we go through as educators. I could not have the stamina it takes to be motivated, excited, and inovative with my teaching without the members of my tribe. Becoming a TpTer has expanded my tribe and I am beyond grateful. We are able to collaborate using social media to develop and expand our creativity. Weather it be Periscope, Instagram, Facebook, or the TpT forum, if you find you have an obstacle you need only ask. You will have the most helpful, caring, and supportive educators more than willing to help you to become better for your students #togetherwearebetter. I value and cherish all the advice and friendships I have gained through the last year.
Last but certainly not least, the biggest blessing in my life is my family! My family is the most wonderful thing that has ever happened to me.
Let’s start with my hubby. He is my best friend and biggest cheer leader. We just celebrated our 11th wedding anniversary. Trust me when I say that marrying him was the best yes. That yes led to my two amazing kids. Nothing in this world brings me more joy than my children. They amaze me every single day. My family is an unmeasurable blessing that I will be grateful for all of my life.
What are you thankful for? Take a moment to reflect with us and let us know what you are most thankful for. We can’t wait to check out the blessings you have in your life.
